Inspired by the work undertaken by SWR to refurbish the station at Malden Manor we learnt that Councillors Park and Massimi of Old Walden Ward (Kingston Upon Thames Borough) had used resources to develop community health and safety initiatives across the borough by installing further defibrillators! This is fantastic to hear and we are so grateful for Councillor Mike Massimi for both spearheading this and for letting us know. Hopefully they won’t be the last to be inspired by our partnership with SWR.

I wanted to take a moment to update you on some important community health and safety initiatives that my colleague Councillor Park and I have been working on in Old Malden (Kingston Upon Thames Borough), which have been inspired by your foundation’s partnership with South Western Railway (SWR).
Earlier this year, we actively collaborated with SWR on the 85-year transformation and a complete refresh of our Malden Manor Aert Deco train station. During this time, I inquired about safety measures and was made aware of SWR’s partnership with The Alex Wardle Foundation. Inspired by your work, we used our Councillor Grant to order more defibrillators, in addition to the one installed by SWR at our station. Building on that success and using the same supplier and model to simplify maintenance and monitoring, we are now installing further defibrillators across our ward. Our aim is to provide comprehensive coverage for our ward’s residents, aligning with our Safer, Fairer, and Greener policy here in the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames.
